As most of you know, cancer got it’s vicious claws in my Mum last year and now it’s stalking a much loved friend and colleague too, dammit. I’m fund-raising to ensure that all cancer patients have the comfort and support of Macmillan Nurses during their hardest battles.
Tbh, I’m a lightweight when it comes to booze, so a month of sobriety wasn’t a massive deal. I decided to wrestle a far scarier foe - sugar! For 30 days I will be abstaining from chocolate, cake, ice cream, biscuits, sweets and sugary drinks. As a complete addict, this is going to be tough. There will be withdrawal symptoms, there will be mood swings. If any of you see me licking the glass on the Crispy Creme display, or sitting on the toilet floor trying inject Nutella, you have my permission to slap me until I come to my senses.
In the meantime, please please donate and help fund more Macmillan Nurses. These people are angels.
