This October, I’ve decided to take part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s Sober October campaign to help raise funds for people living with cancer.
The idea is to go alcohol-free for the month, and while this is a meaningful challenge for many, I’m aware that some of you may already abstain from alcohol for personal, cultural, or faith-based reasons, and so this vehicle for fund raising may not be your first choice. It is however, an approach to raise alcohol awareness at the same time.
With that in mind, I’ve chosen to augment the challenge by committing to a daily fitness goal: 100 sit-ups and 100 push-ups every day throughout October.
It’s a way for me to push myself physically and mentally, while supporting a cause that means a lot to me. Like many, I had the opportunity to see the incredible, positive and impactful work this charity do during my parents' final journey through cancer battles a few years back. Since then I have been a huge fan and would love to help their cause.
If you feel moved to support this effort, I’d be incredibly grateful for any modest donation you might wish to make. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Macmillan continue their vital work. Your donation will help Macmillan provide vital physical, financial and emotional support to people living with cancer and their families, so that everyone with cancer can live life as fully as they can.
Of course, there’s absolutely no pressure — your encouragement and support in any form are deeply appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you have any questions or want to join me in the fitness challenge, I’d love to hear from you!
Adrian. I am so impressed with your dedication and cause. All the best and i look forward to hearing the updates. Roxane x
