In July 2023 I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, which I had been living with for a number of years before my diagnosis. I underwent surgery and attended multiple scans to ensure the cancer was gone. Unfortunately, a year later, I went for one of my routine scans, and the cancer had come back also spreading to a near by lymph node. The last month for me has been one of the toughest I have ever had to endure but I am feeling stronger and more positive everyday. During the month of October I will be undergoing a second surgery and soon after a form of radiotherapy known as radioactive iodine treatment to hopefully get rid of the cancer for one last time.
I am doing sober October not only for me, but for everyone else, including people I know, living with any form of cancer as macmillan has been a great support throughout my journey and I would love to raise as much money as I can.
