When I was diagnosed earlier this year with breast cancer I was shocked and my world changed immediately, but I was grateful I had found it early. I consider myself lucky as it could have been a lot worse. The macmillan nurses were always on hand and kind and supportive. Without them many people would have a much harder journey. I am lucky I have an absolutely amazing family and friends but for some these nurses are their only support.
For anyone who knows me they know how much I love and enjoy a glass of wine (or three!) but getting ready for my treatment and my next hurdle as well as raising awareness I am giving it it up for October. We already have the champagne in the fridge ready for when I am at the end of my journey!
I have spoken to so many people since who have shared their own stories. The outpouring of love and support has helped me through this, albeit a little overwhelming at times. I can’t believe how many people this affects. I would love to acknowledge the wonderful work macmillan do and try and give a little back!
